After Dr CHA Chi-ming, the late founder and chairman of the Group, acquired the equity interest of Hong Kong Resort Company Limited, which is the registered owner and developer of Discovery Bay on Lantau Island in Hong Kong, in 1977, the Group has progressed into a leading developer of groundbreaking living and lifestyle space. Between 1988 and 1989, the Group underwent a series of reorganisation and schemes of arrangement leading to the formation of HKR International Limited (HKRI) (HK Stock Code: 00480) in May 1989 as its new listed holding company.
Throughout the years, we have built a variety of signature projects across Asia. Discovery Bay is HKRI’s landmark development in Hong Kong and the Group’s first project in the real estate industry.
